PREVIEW: Giants Host Rebels for 1st Time Since November of 2023
LANGLEY B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (18-28-1-2) continue their five-game home stand on Sunday with a rare visit from the Red Deer Rebels (16-27-2-2), who are nearing the end of their six-game B.C. Division road trip.
Both teams are looking to end losing skids: the Giants lost last night to the Memorial Cup host Kelowna Rockets and haven’t picked up a win since Jan. 10, while the Rebels’ 6-3 loss last night in Victoria was their fifth in a row.
The Giants have been decimated by injuries and will once again have to play without captain Ryan Lin (upper body), forward Adam Titlbach (upper body), forward Mathis Preston (lower body) defenceman Kaleb Hartmann (lower body) and 20-year-old centre Misha Volotovskii (illness).

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
These two teams only meet once per season and haven’t seen each other since Oct. 8, 2024, when the Giants took down Red Deer 5-2 on the road.
Red Deer’s last visit to LEC was on Nov. 8, 2023, when the Giants picked up a 4-3 win. The only current Giants players that played in that game are Jakob Oreskovic and Adam Titlbach.
This season, the Rebels are 9-13-1-2 on the road, while the Giants are still one game above .500 at home at 12-11-1-0. Red Deer has been outscored 26-12 during their current five-game losing streak.
With 36 points, the Rebels are currently tied for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
