PREVIEW: Giants Host Hurricanes for First Time Since 2019

Langley B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (8-12-1-0) host the Lehtbridge Hurricanes (11-8-2-0) tonight in the only head-to-head meeting of the season.
The is the first visit for Lethbridge since November 17, 2019. These teams did play once last season in Lethbridge, which was a 4-3 Giants shootout win on Nov. 4, 2022.
The Giants will be playing their fourth game in five nights, after going 1-2 this week in three straight games against the B.C. Division-leading Prince George Cougars. The Hurricanes, meanwhile, have only played one game this week, which was an 8-3 victory last night in Victoria over the Royals.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vancouver Giants were shut out 5-0 by the Prince George Cougars on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre. The visitors got goals from five different players: Terik Parascak, Hunter Laing, Hudson Thornton, Zac Funk and Oren Shtrom. The shots on goal were 31-26 for PG. In net, North Vancouver native Joshua Ravensbergen was the first star with a 26-save shutout.
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
Tonight is the only meeting between the two teams this season.
The only meeting last season was a 4-3 shootout win for Vancouver on Nov. 4, where Sam Honzek and Jaden Lipinski both scored in the shootout to secure the win.
On home ice, Vancouver brings in a strong 6-4-1 record at the LEC, while the Hurricanes are 5-5 on the road.
Lethbridge is a physical, defensively sound team, as they have only surrendered 57 goals in 21 games, an average of 2.71 per game, which is fourth-best in the WHL. They are 5-5 on the road and 5-4-1 in their last 10. The Giants, who will be playing their 10th game this month already, are 6-4-1 on home ice and 4-6 in their last 10.
