PREVIEW: Giants Head to Hockeytown North to Face Raiders Wednesday
Saskatoon, Sask. – The Vancouver Giants continue their East Division road trip tonight with the fourth of six games in nine days, taking on the Prince Albert Raiders at 6 p.m. PDT.
The Giants began the trip with their best start of the year by far, getting out to a 3-0 lead in the first 92 seconds against Swift Current last Friday. Unfortunately the Broncos broke a 5-5 deadlock late in the third period and took the two points with a 7-5 win.
The Giants followed that up with a strong effort in Moose Jaw on Saturday, pulling away in the second period with a pair of goals that changed the score from 2-2 to 4-2, before holding on for the 5-3 win.
Last night, the Giants weren’t at their best, falling 6-1 to the Saskatoon Blades in a game where they were outshot 39-16.
The G-Men now face a Raiders squad that is one of only three teams without a regulation loss, at 4-0-1. Prince Albert has allowed just three goals against in their two home games, wins over Saskatoon (4-2) and Red Deer (4-1).
