PREVIEW: Giants Begin 4-in-5 in Saskatoon on Tuesday
Saskatoon, Sask. – The Vancouver Giants continue their East Division road trip tonight with their third of six games, taking on the Saskatoon Blades at 6 p.m. PDT.
The Giants began the trip with their best start of the year by far, getting out to a 3-0 lead in the first 92 seconds against Swift Current last Friday. Unfortunately the Broncos broke a 5-5 deadlock late in the third period and took the two points with a 7-5 win.
The Giants followed that up with a strong effort in Moose Jaw on Saturday, pulling away in the second period with a pair of goals that changed the score from 2-2 to 4-2, before holding on for the 5-3 win.
The G-Men now face a Blades team that is 4-2-0 and has won two in a row: 6-3 over Brandon and 4-2 over Red Deer. The Blades are also 2-0-0 on home ice this season, with just four goals against in those two wins.
