Muranov Commits to Niagara University for Next Season
Langley, B.C. — Vancouver Giants 20-year-old forward Maxim Muranov has announced his commitment to Niagara University for next season.
Muranov is the second current Giant to commit to an NCAA school, after Connor Levis committed to Bowling Green in December. Former Giant Tyson Zimmer also committed to Niagara University in December. These announcements follow the changes to the eligibility rules for NCAA men’s hockey.
Muranov has four goals and one assist in five games since being acquired by the Giants ahead of the 2025 trade deadline, as well as a +5 plus-minus rating. On the season as a whole, the power forward has 30 points in 39 games, on 12 goals and 18 assists, as well as a +18 plus-minus rating.
In his career, the 6-foot-3, 185 lb. winger has recorded 121 points in 215 games (45G-76A), all of which had been with the Calgary Hitmen prior to joining the Giants.
Niagara University is located in Lewiston, near Niagara Falls, New York. The Purple Eagles compete in the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) conference and plays out of the Robert and Concetta Dwyer Arena.
