Lin Wins Gold, Olson Wins Silver at 2024 U17 World Challenge

Sarnia, Ont. – Vancouver Giants defenceman Ryan Lin and Canada White defeated Giants teammate Brett Olson and Canada Red 3-1 to claim the Gold Medal at the U17 World Challenge on Saturday afternoon in Sarnia, Ont.

Lin was one of eight WHLers to win Gold with Canada White.

It’s the second straight year Canada White has topped the podium after Cameron Schmidt scored the overtime winner in the 2023 Gold Medal Game against the United States.

Lin finished the 2024 tournament with one goal and one assist, while Olson had two goals and one assist.

Giants General Manager Barclay Parneta also won gold, serving as the Director of Operations for Canada White.
