Giants Training Camp – Day 1 Recap

Vancouver, B.C. – The first full day of Giants Training Camp took place on Thursday, August 28 at the Ladner Leisure Centre, presented by Preston GM, which included two scrimmages.

In the first scrimmage, Team Red shut out Team White 8-0, thanks to a hat-trick from Cameron Schmidt (2007), two goals from Cole Brown (2007) and a goal each from Quentin Bourne (2006), Blake Chorney (2009) and Brett Olson (2008).

In the second scrimmage, Team Grey defeated Team Black 7-3, thanks to two goals each from Aaron Obobaifo (2007) and Luca Pura (2008), plus single tallies from Caden Cail (2007), Daniel Naumchyk (2010) and Torretto Marrelli (2007). Max Malinousky had two goals for Team Black, with Sam Rishaug (2009) also scoring.

UP NEXT

Giants Preston GM Training Camp continues on Friday with two more scrimmages.

Following camp, the Giants will play four preseason games, two of which will be hosted in the Greater Vancouver Area, beginning at the Ladner Leisure Centre on Tuesday September 9, followed by a contest at Jon Baillie Arena in Port Coquitlam on September 10. Both games will be against the Victoria Royals.

Tickets for the game in Port Coquitlam are on sale now for $16 including tax and can be purchased by clicking here. Tickets for the preseason game in Ladner will only be available at the door.

The G-Men will also play the Kamloops Blazers on the road on Wednesday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. PT and visit the Penticton Vees on Thursday, September 4 at 6:35 p.m. PT.
