Giants Alumnus Evander Kane Scores in 1000th NHL Game
LAS VEGAS, NV – Vancouver Giants alumnus Evander Kane (Vancouver, B.C.) played in his 1000th career NHL game on Monday night with the Vancouver Canucks, where he scored his 339th career NHL goal.
“It was nice to have the support of all the guys. They were excited for me, which made it special,” Kane said after Monday’s game. “Getting the first goal of the game was the little cherry on top.”

Kane becomes just the second Giants alumni to play 1000 NHL games, joining Milan Lucic, who played 1,177 regular season NHL games with the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.
Originally the fourth overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers, Kane reached 1000 career regular season games over 16 seasons between the Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers and now his hometown Canucks.

In 1000 career NHL games, Kane has recorded 339 goals and 309 assists for 648 career points. His 648 NHL points are more than any other Giants alumni. Kane has added 32 goals and 23 assists for 55 points in 97 career playoff games.
As a Giant, Kane played two full seasons (2007-09), jumping from 24 goals and 41 points in his rookie season to 48 goals and 96 points in 2008-09. He won the Memorial Cup with the Giants in 2007 as a 15-year-old. With 73 career goals as a Giant, Kane ranks 12th in all-time goals for the franchise.
