GAME DAY: Sunday, February 2 vs. Spokane
Langley, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (24-18-6-0) host the surging Spokane Chiefs (32-16-0-0), this afternoon at the LEC at 4 p.m., as both teams play their third game of the weekend.
Tonight is the third of four head-to-head meetings, with the G-Men 0-1-1 so far. These teams haven’t met since a 5-1 Spokane win in Langley on Nov. 23.
The Giants are coming off a resounding 9-2 victory on home ice over Kamloops on Saturday night, which was a great response after a 5-2 road loss on Friday in Seattle. The Giants are now 11-5-2 since Dec. 15 and 7-1-1 in their last nine home games.
The Chiefs thumped the Western Conference leading Everett Silvertips 10-3 on the road last night, which came one night after downing Victoria 5-1 at home. Spokane is 6-2-0 in their last eight, but 4-3-0 in their seven road games post-Christmas.

WHO TO WATCH
VANCOUVER: #19 CAMERON SCHMIDT – Schmidt (Prince George, B.C.) has had such a formidable season that it’s a bit surprising his four-point game on Saturday night (1G-3A) was a first for him this season. The crafty winger had previously recorded 17 multi-point games this year, yet never a four-point effort, until yesterday. Schmidt continues to lead the Giants in scoring in 2024-25, now with 58 points in 42 games, already equalling his total from last season in 17 fewer games. His playmaking has been on display as of late, with 10 assists in his last 10 games (plus five goals for 15 points). Schmidt has loved playing in front of the home crowd lately too, with 12 points in his last six games at the LEC (4G-8A). The Giants are 5-0-1 in those six home games.
SPOKANE: #82 ANDREW CRISTALL – Cristall (Burnaby, B.C.) has put up so many points this season it’s nearly impossible not to list him here. Not only did he record six points last night in a 10-3 win on the road in Everett (1G-5A), but he is riding an eight-game point streak since Jan. 11, with 25 points in those eight contests (6G-19A). That includes a seven-point game (Jan. 11), a six-point game (Feb. 1) and a five-point game (Jan. 15). On the season, the 19-year-old forward has 85 points in just 37 games (32G-53A). The Washington Capitals draft pick has been held off the scoresheet just five times this season in 37 games.
