GAME DAY: Saturday, February 8 vs. Everett
Langley, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (24-20-6-0) face a tall task tonight when they host the league-leading Everett Silvertips (37-8-4-3) tonight at the Langley Events Centre at 7 p.m., who became the first WHL team to clinch a playoff spot after a 4-1 road win over Kamloops last night.
Tonight is the third of four head-to-head meetings. The last matchup was way back on November 29, when Everett won 7-1. The Giants won the very first meeting of the season on Sept. 21, when Burke Hood made 37 saves in his WHL debut to help Vancouver to a 4-3 win.
The Giants lost last night 5-2 to the Portland Winterhawks, getting behind the eight ball, as they were unable to dig themselves out of a 4-0 hole.
Vancouver is 1-3-1 in their last five; Everett is 3-2-0.
The Giants are partnering with JR Country tonight as part of their Basics for Babies fundraiser! They will have a tent set up outside Gate 2. Bring the JR Street Team a donation for Basics for Babies and you’ll be entered in to win a signed Cameron Schmidt jersey!
