PRINCE GEORGE, BC – <\/strong>Have a week, Terik Parascak.<\/p>\n

The 2024 first-round pick of the Washington Capitals has been named the WHL Tempo Player of the Week after a dominant performance in Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Semi-Final.<\/p>\n

Parascak played a pivotal role in the Prince George Cougars\u2019 two wins over the Penticton Vees at the South Okanagan Events Centre, recording six points (4G-2A), eight shots on goal, and two power-play points across the pair of victories. He was also named first star in both contests.<\/p>\n

Through eight playoff games, Parascak now has 14 points, tying his career high for playoff production set during the 2024 WHL postseason.<\/p>\n

PENTICTON, BC<\/strong> \u2013 The Prince George Cougars are headed home with a 2\u20130 series lead after a commanding 6\u20132 victory over the Penticton Vees<\/span><\/span> Saturday at the South Okanagan Events Centre<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Terik Parascak<\/span><\/span> and Jett Lajoie<\/span><\/span> each scored twice, while Tyrone Sobry<\/span><\/span> and Dawson Seitz<\/span><\/span> added their first goals of the 2026 playoffs. Josh Ravensbergen<\/span><\/span> was stellar once again in the Cougars\u2019 crease, turning aside 40 shots.<\/p>\n

Special teams played a decisive role. Prince George went a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, scoring twice while short-handed, and finished 2-for-4 on the power play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re happy with the start, for sure,\u201d said Cougars assistant coach Carter Rigby. \u201cThey pushed \u2014 they\u2019re a really good team. It was important for our group to be ready from the get-go. Getting two short-handed goals early gave our group a boost, and I thought we stayed disciplined for most of the night. It\u2019s been a great effort through two games.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the second straight game, the Cougars opened the scoring while short-handed. Parascak netted his sixth goal of the playoffs at 6:35 of the first period, and just 12 seconds later, Sobry blasted home another short-handed marker from the left point to make it 2\u20130.<\/p>\n

Prince George carried the momentum onto the power play, where Parascak capitalized on a lively bounce off the back boards and tucked the puck past Penticton netminder AJ Reyelts<\/span><\/span> to extend the lead to 3\u20130. The Cougars weren\u2019t done there. In the final minute of the period, Lajoie scored a highlight-reel goal at 19:20 to give Prince George a 4\u20130 advantage after 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

Ravensbergen continued his strong play in the second period, stopping all 14 shots he faced. Late in the frame, Riley Ashe<\/span><\/span> sprung Seitz on a 2-on-1, and Seitz made no mistake at 18:25 to push the lead to 5\u20130.<\/p>\n

In the third, Bauer Dumanski<\/span><\/span> fired a one-timer that was redirected by Lajoie for his second of the night, making it 6\u20130. Penticton added a pair of late goals, but the Cougars skated away with a convincing 6\u20132 win.<\/p>\n

The series now shifts to the CN Centre<\/span><\/span> on Tuesday night, where a raucous home crowd awaits as Prince George looks to build on its series lead.
