Cougars Sign Kadric Mujcin and Ethan Popowich to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements
PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Cougars are excited to announce that Prince George-born forward Kadric Mujcin and defenceman Ethan Popowich have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with the club.
Mujcin, 16, was selected by the Cougars in the fifth round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft. He spent the 2025-26 season with the Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA, recording 15 goals and 22 assists in 33 games. Mujcin added four points in four playoff games.
“Kadric is a home grown Prince George hockey player,” said Director of Player Personnel Bob Simmonds. “He is a fierce competitor who leaves everything on the ice. He just continues to get better. His hockey journey is just beginning with a bright future ahead with the Cougars. The fact he (Kadric) is a PG player is an added bonus for us.”
Popowich joined the Cougars as a training camp invite this fall. The 6-foot-3, right-shot defenceman spent the 2025-26 season with the CAC Canadians of the Alberta Elite Hockey League U18, collecting 31 points in 33 games. The 2009-born Edmonton, Alberta product has impressed the Cougars’ hockey operations staff with his play throughout training camp and the preseason.
“Popowich is a quite a story and should be motivation for every young player who thinks he has been overlooked,” said Simmonds. “Ethan was a late camp invite having played primarily AA and U17 hockey. His training camp and pre-season have been remarkable. He has shown us he has tremendous upside and potential. He has earned this opportunity and we are thrilled he is now part of the Cougars family.”
The Cougars would like to congratulate Kadric Mujcin and Ethan Popowich on these accomplishments!
The Prince George Cougars kick off the regular season tonight against the Penticton Vees at the CN Centre. Tickets are available now HERE.
