In just 98 games, Gilchrist\u00a0tallied\u00a0190 points,\u00a0still the\u00a0franchise\u2019s\u00a0leader at 1.94 points per game\u00a0for players who appeared in more than 80\u00a0outings.\u00a0\u00a0In his second season in Spokane, Gilchrist led the Chiefs with 45 goals, 55 assists and 100 points.\u00a0That season, he\u00a0played in\u00a0just 46 games.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gilchrist\u2019s nine game goal scoring streak in 1986-87 is\u00a0still\u00a0tied\u00a0for the second longest in\u00a0franchise history and he holds the distinction of recording the organization\u2019s first hat-trick in their first ever win, a 7-4 decision at New\u00a0Westminister\u00a0in\u00a0October,\u00a01985.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In his entire four-year WHL career, two with the Kelowna Wings and two with Spokane, Gilchrist scored 141 goals, 149 assists and 290 points.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the fourth round in 1985, Gilchrist would\u00a0go on to\u00a0play for 15 seasons in the NHL, winning a Stanley Cup in 1998 with the Detroit Red Wings.\u00a0\u00a0Gilchrist is one of\u00a0four\u00a0former Chiefs to do so.\u00a0\u00a0He scored 135 goals and 305 points in 792 NHL games.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gilchrist was named to the Chiefs original List of Legends when the Chiefs celebrated their 25<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0anniversary in 2010.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Chiefs Annual Fall Training Camp schedule will be released on Friday, August 21<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">st<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]This year\u2019s competition for the Annual Chiefs Cup, the\u00a0championship\u00a0trophy awarded to the\u00a0winner\u00a0of the Spokane Chiefs Training Camp, will feature teams named after former players,\u00a0one\u00a0representing\u00a0each decade of Chiefs history.\u00a0 Sixty-eight players will be split amongst four teams and take part in three days of scrimmages beginning on Thursday, August 27th\u00a0at Numerica Veterans Arena. The players will be split into four teams who will take part in three days of scrimmages. The camp will follow a tournament style\u00a0where each team will compete for the Annual Chiefs Cup championship trophy. This will be awarded to the winners of the annual\u00a0Red vs. White championship game\u00a0which will\u00a0take place\u00a0on Sunday, featuring the top two teams from the week.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All scrimmages at Numerica Veterans Arena will be free and open to the public. Fans who choose to use the Numerica Veterans Arena parking lots will be charged a fee. He scored a goal against Germany during the group stage before adding a goal and three assists in the USA\u2019s 5-2 semifinal win against Slovakia on Friday night. In the championship game, Burcar assisted on Team USA\u2019s only goal.<\/p>\n<p>Burcar scored five goals and added four assists, for a total of nine points in five games, which placed him tied for second in the tournament for points and goals.<\/p>\n<p>From Cota de Caza, California, Burcar appeared in 63 games in Spokane as a rookie last season, recording seven goals and 17 points.\u00a0Burcar is also committed to play at Michigan State University after the Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>The Spokane Chiefs open their season on the road against the Tri-City Americans on September 19.
