He moved up to the Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) in 2022-2023, where he served as both an Assistant Coach and the Director of Hockey Operations, before\u00a0joining\u00a0the Spokane Chiefs ahead of the 2024-2025 season. staff selected the next generation of Chiefs players this week during the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft, making seven total picks.<\/p>\n<p>The first round took place on Wednesday, May 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0with Spokane selecting\u00a0forwards\u00a0Brody Antignani 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0overall and Jack Arnold 16<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0overall.<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs entered\u00a0day\u00a0two\u00a0on the clock\u00a0with the first pick of the second round\u00a0and selected\u00a0defenseman\u00a0Braydon Lynam\u00a0from Sherwood Park, Alberta\u00a024<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0overall.<\/p>\n<p>Defenseman Matthew Tranby, out of Blaine, Minnesota,\u00a0was picked 81<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0overall by Spokane, before the Chiefs traded up to 84<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0overall to select fellow American Owen Moulton.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Player Personnel, George Ross, on the decision to trade up and select Moulton, \u201cOur draft philosophy is to be aggressive, and when an opportunity arises to make a move to select a\u00a0player\u00a0we are passionate about, we will pursue it. To be able to draft an elite player like Owen was a rare opportunity that we could not pass up, and we are very\u00a0excited\u00a0how it worked out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs selected\u00a0forward\u00a0Donovan Klin 119<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0overall\u00a0and traded the 129<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0overall pick to Penticton for a future fourth round\u00a0selection\u00a0in 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Spokane\u2019s final pick was goaltender Jordan Bigelow at 173<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0overall.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the Chiefs made\u00a0seven\u00a0picks in the draft, including\u00a0three\u00a0from Minnesota,\u00a0one from Texas,\u00a0two from Alberta,\u00a0and one\u00a0from British Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>Players selected in this year\u2019s WHL Draft are first eligible to join the Chiefs as full-time players during the 2027-28\u00a0season and can play up to 10 games as Affiliate Players in 2026-27.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could not be\u00a0prouder\u00a0of our scouting staff for the work they put in this season,\u201d said Ross.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe amount of time they spend watching games and away from their families is integral for us to bring talented hockey players and first-class people into our organization. And we feel we were able to do that this week with the group of players we selected. We feel it is a group that really builds upon the younger groups we have assembled over the past few years. team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrody is a high-octane player who has produced offense at every level he has played. He is highly-dangerous and creative with the puck on his stick. He also brings leadership ability and elevates his play in big moments. We feel he is an excellent fit for the Spokane Chiefs identity, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Spokane, \u201d said Spokane Chiefs Director of Player Personnel George Ross.<\/p>\n<p>Arnold was the first American born player off the board when the Chiefs selected the 6\u20193\u201d power forward 16<sup>th<\/sup> overall.\u00a0 Playing for the Dallas Stars Elite 14 club, Arnold had 25 goals and 50 points in 44 games.\u00a0 The pick, originally Calgary\u2019s, was acquired by Spokane in a January trade with the Vancouver Giants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJack is a big, athletic and skilled power forward with elite-level work ethic on and off the ice. Rounding out the telecast team is rinkside host and award-winning sports reporter <strong>Cami Kepke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: justify\"><strong>Peter Loubardias, Play-by-Play<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: justify\">Across six seasons of the WHL on Shaw from 2012 to 2017, Loubardias was a regular fixture, including during five WHL Championship Series and numerous WHL Bantam Draft shows. He also called the 2018 WHL Championship Series on Access TV in Saskatchewan. For eight seasons, he was the play-by-play voice of the Memorial Cup on Sportsnet. On three occasions, he served as play-by-play voice of the IIHF World Junior Championship. In 2010, Loubardias was part of the team that called men\u2019s hockey during the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. In 2007, he was the voice of the CHL\u2019s Canada Russia Super Series. At the NHL level, Loubardias was the television play-by-play voice for the Calgary Flames and most recently served as a radio analyst for the Flames. Prior to his time on the national stage, Loubardias was the play-by-play voice of the WHL\u2019s Regina Pats.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: justify\"><strong>Kelly Remple, Analyst<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: justify\">Since the 1990s, Remple has found himself deeply engrained with the WHL in Western Canada. Originally from Moose Jaw, Sask., and now residing in Regina, Sask., he has co-hosted Pats TV on Access Communications since 2021 and appears as a WHL insider on Moose Jaw Warriors hockey on Victory+. Prior to his time with Pats TV, Remple served as the co-host of Sportscage on 620 CKRM in Regina from 2010-2018. Remple also worked in marketing and promotions for the Warriors (1991-93) and Pats (1993-95), and continues to serve as an analyst on various WHL radio broadcasts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: justify\"><strong>Cami Kepke, Rinkside Host<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: justify\">Kepke, who serves as the WHL\u2019s Manager of Community Engagement and Content, brings nearly a decade of award-winning television and sports reporting to the program.
