[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Spokane Chiefs are scheduled to play four preseason games over two weekends in advance of the 2026-27 WHL regular season.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs will travel to Everett and play in the Preseason Classic presented by LiUNA 292 and take on Portland on Friday, September 4th and Seattle on Saturday, September 5th.<\/p>\n

The following weekend, the Chiefs are slated to travel to Kennewick for the Tri-City Preseason Tournament presented by Gesa Credit Union. Spokane will face Portland on Friday, September 11th and the host Americans on Saturday, September 12th.<\/p>\n

Spokane will then begin the regular season with a trip back down to face their U.S. Division rival Tri-City Americans on Saturday, September 19th.\u00a0The home portion of the regular season will feature another match-up with Tri-City on Saturday, September 26th on Blue Moon Opening Night and pre-game party at Numerica Veterans Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Chiefs finished 16 points ahead of the Americans a season ago enroute to securing the 6th playoff spot in the Western Conference, going 7-1 against their local rival. Spokane defeated the Americans in last season\u2019s home opener 3-0 featuring a Carter Esler shutout and a goal from Winnipeg Jets\u2019 prospect Owen Martin.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Spokane Chiefs are proud to announce that 2008-born goaltender Bryce Francisco has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 6\u20191\u201d, 165 lb. netminder was listed by the Spokane Chiefs in March 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cBryce has had tremendous success at both the High School and Junior levels over the past few seasons. He is a competitive, athletic, poised and technically-sound goaltender in addition to being a good teammate and hard-worker on and off the ice,\u201d said Spokane Chiefs Assistant General Manager George Ross. \u201cWe are excited that Bryce has chosen Spokane to further his development and want to welcome the Francisco family to the Chiefs organization!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hermantown, MN native played 27 games for Hermantown High School last season, maintaining a 2.69 GAA and .914 save percentage while winning 17 games.\u00a0 He earned the Frank Brimsek Award, an honor given to the state of Minnesota\u2019s top high school senior goaltender. Francisco played with Spokane Chiefs prospect Nikolai Zhukov (8th<\/sup>-Round, 2025 WHL Draft) at Hermantown High School.<\/p>\n

Francisco was 8-6-2 in 21 games for Team TDS Transportation in the Minnesota High School Elite Hockey League and played for the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL after his high school season, recording a 2.46 GAA and .904 save percentage in 11 games.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so excited to be joining such a well-run organization and to become a part of the Spokane Chiefs. I want to thank my parents, family, coaches, and everyone who has supported me throughout my hockey journey and helped me get to this point,\u201d said Francisco. \u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunity and for the Chiefs staff for believing in me and making me feel welcome. Spokane, Wash. \u2014\u202f<\/span><\/b>The Spokane Chiefs are proud to announce that 2011-born defenseman Braydon Lynam has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 6\u20190\u201d, 188 lb. Lynam was the first player selected in the second round (24<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0overall)\u00a0and was Spokane\u2019s third\u00a0selection\u00a0in the first 24 picks of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>We are thrilled to add Braydon to our young group. Braydon is a player who got better every time our staff watched him last season, and we feel he is just beginning to scratch the surface of what he can become at the WHL level,\u201d Assistant General Manager George Ross said. \u201cWe feel he will bring size, physicality, mobility, competitiveness, scoring\u00a0ability\u00a0and leadership to our\u00a0back-end\u00a0and we are excited to officially welcome Braydon and his family to the Chiefs Organization<\/span>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Lynam, from Sherwood Park, Alberta, recorded six goals, 35 assists, and 41 points for OHA Edmonton\u00a0U15\u00a0Prep last season.\u202f He was named to the\u00a0CSSHL\u00a0U15\u00a0Second All-Star Team following the\u00a02025-26 season.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Ever since I was a kid, the goal was always to get drafted and earn the chance to play in the WHL. Being drafted was a huge step, but signing with the Spokane Chiefs is something I\u2019m really proud of,” said Lynam. “I\u2019m excited for what\u2019s ahead and looking forward to contributing, growing as a player, and hopefully one day competing for a Memorial Cup.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Lynam is first\u00a0able\u00a0to join the team as a full-time player during the 2027-28\u00a0season. He is eligible to play up to 10 games with the Chiefs during the 2026-27 season as an AP player.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All 90 prospects invited to the combine featured in the NHL Central Scouting\u2019s final rankings, with Harrington listed at 26 and Sparks listed at 37 among North American Skaters.<\/p>\n

Harrington finished the 2025-26 WHL season with career highs in goals (28),\u00a0assists\u00a0(29), points (57), penalty minutes (105), power play goals (9), game winning goals (4), and points-per-game (0.93).\u00a0He\u00a0earned the Chiefs Co-Player of the Year\u00a0honor at the\u00a0end\u00a0of the season.\u00a0\u00a0Harrington was originally selected eighth overall by Spokane in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n

Sparks finished the season tied for the team-lead in goals with Harrington, scoring 28 times. Sparks led the team with 65 points across 69 games played during the regular season.<\/p>\n

NHL teams can have 1-on-1 interviews with prospects at KeyBank Center from June 1-5. The medical examinations will take place June 3, the Maximal VO2 bike test and isokinetic squat test, which is new to the Combine, will take place June 5, and the remaining eight of the 12 fitness tests will occur at HarborCenter on June 6 (standing height\/wingspan, horizontal jump, force plate vertical jumps, bench press, pro agility test, pull ups, 10-meter sprint, Wingate Cycle Ergometer test). The 10-meter sprint, also new to the Combine, will be conducted in conjunction with the pro agility test.<\/p>\n
