Harrington’s first career WHL goal not enough as Chiefs fall to Everett, 6-2
Spokane, Wash. – The Chiefs rekindled their U.S. Division rivalry against the Silvertips on Friday night, falling 5-2 to Everett in front of over 5,200 Saturday night hockey fans. It was the first match up against the ‘Tips since late September when the Chiefs won 4-1 behind two goals from rookie Hayden Paupanekis.
It was another Chiefs rookie, Chase Harrington who opened the scoring on Saturday night just over a minute into the game. He picked up the puck after the faceoff in the Chiefs zone and drove the length of the ice. The defense stayed with a different Chiefs player, letting Harrington in on net.

Everett would find the net next with a paid of goals from Beau Courtney and Eric Jamieson to make it 2-1 at 10:10 in the first.
Hayden Paupanekis must enjoy playing against Everett because he scored his third goal of his career at the 18:37 mark of the first, with all three coming on the power play against the Silvertips this season.

With an assist on the play, Feist picked up his fifth point since coming over the Chiefs in a trade while Harrington added the other helper on the goal. The first period was relatively clean with just one penalty called against Everett.
The teams would head to the break tied at two but the second period was all Everett. The ‘Tips piled on three goals from Tsakumis, Hemmerling, and Smith to make it 5-2 after two. Tempers flared in the second frame which saw seven different penalties called.
Tarin Smith would add a goal in the third to make it 6-2 with the Chiefs unable to cut into the lead as the game finished out.
Spokane managed 43 shots on goal but could not find the twine after the first period, while Dawson Cowan stopped 36 shots in net for Spokane. The Chiefs went 1/2 on the power play and 1/3 on the penalty kill.
The Chiefs are back in action next weekend with a pair of road games at Seattle and Tri-City before returning home on November 10th for Jack In The Box Fan Appreciation Night.
