Chiefs punch ticket to 2025 WHL Playoffs with win over Kamloops Blazers Monday
Spokane, Wash. — The Spokane Chiefs have clinched a spot in the 2025 Western Hockey League Playoffs. The Chiefs are currently third in the Western Conference and second in the U.S. Division, with a 37-16-1-1 record and 76 points.
Spokane is the second Western Conference team to clinch, following the Everett Silvertips.
The Chiefs currently have three players in the top ten WHL scorers: Andrew Cristall (1st, 39-64-103), Berkly Catton (3rd, 31-60-91) and Shea Van Olm (8th, 44-36-80), with Van Olm leading the league in goals at 44. Meanwhile, Dawson Cowan leads the league in wins with 28 and is currently one of the top goaltenders in the WHL with a 2.66 GAA and .908 SV%.
The 2024-25 WHL Regular Season concludes Sunday, March 23, with the first round of the 2025 WHL Playoffs scheduled to commence Friday, March 28. The top eight teams in each conference will advance to the post-season. The first-place team will play the eighth-place team, second-place will play seventh-place, third-place will play sixth-place and fourth-place will play fifth-place in the first round.
The Chiefs have 13 games remaining in the regular season.
