Swift Current, SK <\/span><\/strong>\u2013<\/strong> The Swift Current Broncos are pleased to announce the signing of 2008-born forward Lincoln Ayers Assad to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ayers Assad, a 6\u20190\u201d forward from Bloomington, Minnesota, joins the Broncos after playing this past season at Academy of Holy Angels (Minnesota State High School League), where he served as captain. In 27 regular season games, Ayers Assad recorded an impressive 30 goals and 31 assists for 61 points. He also appeared in two games with the USHL\u2019s Lincoln Stars.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe welcome Lincoln and his family to the Broncos organization. Lincoln is a strong and powerful skater who brings scoring touch and physicality. Everyone we spoke with coaching in Minnesota high school hockey raved about his skating, competitiveness, and work ethic. We were really looking to improve the depth of our 2008 birth year group and we feel Lincoln can be a positive addition to our team,\u201d said Broncos General Manager Travis Crickard.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am honoured and extremely excited to sign with the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL and continue my hockey career with such a great organization and devoted community,\u201d said Ayers Assad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swift Current, SK<\/strong> \u2013 <\/span>The Swift Current Broncos would like to congratulate and thank forward Hudson Darby as he continues his hockey career at Ferris State University next season.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Swift Current product, Darby returned home last season after being acquired from the Portland Winterhawks and made an immediate impact as team captain. He led the Broncos in scoring with 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to joining the Broncos, Darby spent two seasons in Portland, appearing in 118 games and recording 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points. During the 2024\/25 season, he helped the Winterhawks reach the Western Conference Final, posting four goals and two assists in 18 playoff games.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank everyone involved in making my final year of junior hockey back in my hometown so special. It was an honour to wear the Broncos jersey and serve as captain this season. The support and development I received from the organization played a huge role in helping me take the next step in my hockey career. I\u2019ll always be grateful for my time with the Broncos and proud to have represented this community,\u201d said Darby.<\/span><\/p>\n
