“It has been an honour to serve as the General Manager of the Swift Current Broncos over the past four years,” said Leslie. “During this time, I have had the privilege of experiencing both the challenges and the triumphs that come with leading a WHL franchise. Navigating multiple regular seasons, postseasons, and offseasons has further solidified my appreciation for the game and the organization.

“Through this journey, I have come to realize that my true passion lies in the scouting aspect of hockey. With this in mind, I have made the decision to step down from my position as General Manager of the Swift Current Broncos. I am pleased to share that I will continue with the organization in a scouting capacity, contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the team.

“On behalf of the organization, I’d like to thank Chad for his dedication and contributions over the past four years as our General Manager,” said Broncos Chairman of the Board Trent McClearly. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with him in a new capacity moving forward.”

“We will begin the process of selecting a new General Manager immediately,” said Broncos Governor Liam Choo-Foo. “Once a qualified pool of candidates has been narrowed down, the board will make its selection, ideally within the next couple of months. As everyone is aware, we also have a head coaching vacancy, and the skill set of the candidate pool will determine whether that position is filled at the same time or if we proceed with hiring only a General Manager.”

The Broncos set the tone early in the first period when Parker Rondeau opened the scoring shorthanded at 3:09, capitalizing on a strong neutral zone breakup. Swift Current struck again late in the frame as Trae Johnson buried the eventual game-winner at 14:06, finishing a play set up by Sawyer Dingman and Daxon Yerex to give the Broncos a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second period, Brendan Rudolph added insurance with his 16th goal of the season at 7:31, finishing off a feed from Johnson to extend the lead to three. Moose Jaw responded late in the period with a power-play goal from Aiden Ziprick at 19:16, but that would be as close as they would get.

Anthony Wilson sealed the victory in the third period with an empty-net goal at 18:34, securing the 4-1 final.

In goal, Archer Cooke delivered a strong performance, turning aside 21 of 22 shots. Moose Jaw outshot Swift Current 22-20, including a push in the second period, but the Broncos held firm defensively.

Special teams saw the Broncos go 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Warriors finished 1-for-7. Swift Current also edged Moose Jaw in the faceoff circle, 26-25.

With the win, the Broncos end their season on a high note and leapfrog the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the standings, avoiding a last-place finish while closing the door on Moose Jaw’s playoff hopes.

The Grey Cup Community Tour is a province-wide celebration held throughout February and March, giving fans across Saskatchewan the opportunity to see the Grey Cup in person, take photos, and celebrate the 2025 Grey Cup Championship together.

Doors at the InnovationPlex will open early at 5:00 p.m., allowing fans the chance to take photos with the Grey Cup prior to puck drop. A valid game ticket is required for entry. Grey Cup MVP Trevor Harris will also be in attendance for the game.

As part of the celebration, the Broncos will also be wearing special Saskatchewan Roughriders-themed jerseys.

Fan Appreciation Night will feature a full slate of activities, including live pre-game music from Evan Baxter in the lobby, as well as post-game autograph opportunities with Broncos players. Fans can also take advantage of Hockey Happy Hour from 5:00–7:00 p.m., featuring food and drink specials, along with $10 Fish & Chips available while supplies last.

The Broncos are excited to announce RE/MAX: Be a Superhero for Children’s Miracle Network on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 PM when the Broncos host the Saskatoon Blades at the InnovationPlex.

For one night, the InnovationPlex will transform into a superhero headquarters as the Broncos suit up in special superhero-themed jerseys, with players also wearing superhero capes during warmups to bring comic-book excitement to Broncos fans of all ages.

Following the game, the game-worn jerseys will be auctioned online, with all proceeds supporting Children’s Miracle Network and helping provide life-saving care for children and families across Saskatchewan.

“The impact that Canada’s Children’s Hospitals Foundation has on families across this province is truly remarkable,” said Dominic LePan, Senior Manager of Business Operations & Corporate Partnerships for the Swift Current Broncos. “Through the incredible support of organizations like RE/MAX and the generosity of communities across Saskatchewan, children who are facing some of the toughest battles imaginable are able to receive life-saving care and support. The evening will also celebrate the incredible impact of Children’s Miracle Network and the courage of children and families who rely on the care provided by Saskatchewan’s children’s hospitals. Across the Western Hockey League, teams have raised over $415,000 over the past three seasons in support of Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
