George Reed Headlines 2006 Special Olympics, Saskatchewan/Broncos Breakfast
George Reed is this year’s guest speaker and the breakfast is also the first opportunity for Bronco fans to meet the 2006/07 Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club. Last years breakfast had Jungle Jim Hunter as the guest speaker and was a huge success.

When George Reed retired in June of 1975, he was still the dominant fullback in the Canadian Football League. He had won a Grey Cup, had been a league MVP and was a perennial all-star, and held the all-time rushing yardage record for all of professional football. In 13 seasons, starting in 1963, George Reed had established a new standard for running backs with his 16,116 career rushing yards, making him the best the CFL had ever seen. But in November of 1975, following his unexpected retirement, all people could talk about were Reed's remarkable personal qualities and what he had meant to each of them as a person.
