Broncos Defeat Ice
Jon Groenheyde made 32 saves to lead the Swift Current Broncos to a 2-1 victory over the Kootenay Ice Sunday night.
The contest would remain scoreless until the midway mark of the first where rookie Graham Black would light the lamp recording his 11th of the season and giving the Broncos the lead.
The Broncos would be outshot 15-6 in the middle frame, but Bronco netminder Groenheyde would remain strong providing some AMAZING saves! Unfortunately, Jesse Ismond would find the back of the net late in the period to tie the game up at one.
The Broncos perfect 3-0-0-0 record when tied after two periods would hold true in the end as Adam Lowry would tally the game winner 10 minutes into the frame to seal the deal and make it a 2-1 final.
The Broncos had 22 shots on net and went 0/3 on the man advantage.
