Broncos sign Mason Fauser to a Scholarship & Development Agreement
Swift Current, Sask. – The Swift Current Broncos announced today that they have signed 2008-born forward Mason Fauser, to a Scholarship and Development Agreement. He was selected 109th overall in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
Hailing from Shaunavon, SK, Fauser had an impressive 2022-23 season with the U15 Swift Current Broncos AA accumulating 66 points (34-32-66) in 28 regular-season games, placing him second in team scoring. Additionally, the 6’0″ forward recorded nine points (4-5-9) in just four playoff games with the team.
Fauser also showcased his skills in four games with the U18 Swift Current Legionnaires, contributing to the team’s 5-0 regular-season victory against the Yorkton Maulers with an assist.
“His sense is what’s really intriguing for me—his ability to make decisions and make plays in every zone, I think he’s very responsible,” stated Broncos GM Chad Leslie. “He can score when he has opportunities. He’s got good finish, good touch, and is a guy who doesn’t mind being on the wall. I think that’s going to contribute offensively and also makes him someone who’s really hard to play against.”
Mason becomes the second player from the Broncos 2023 Draft class to sign with the team, joining Sawyer Dingman, a native of Edmonton, AB.
