The Kamloops Blazers wrapped up their back-to-back set against the Victoria Royals in the second meeting of the two-game slate.
The opening frame was controlled by the Royals once again, similar to Tuesday nights opening five minutes. Victoria would strike first, Eli McKamey fired one past Logan Edmonstone to make it 1-0. Kamloops generated some offence and Josh Evaschesen had a high-danger chance but Ethan Eskit turned it aside.
Victoria doubled their lead later in the period following a turnover, as Odin Vauhkonen made no mistake and fired one past Edmonstone to make it 2-0. With the first period winding down, Kamloops got a spark as Ty Coupland scored his third goal as a Blazer, cutting the deficit to one heading into the intermission.
Victoria opened the second period with energy and immediately connected as Ludovic Perreault buried a cross crease feed to make it 3-1. The pace settled into a back-and-forth rhythm from there, with both teams trading low-danger chances. Kamloops came close to pulling within one when Joaquin Geras fired a shot that was tipped by Nathan Behm and landed on Josh Evaschesen’s stick in front, but Eskit stood firm to deny the chance.
The third opened with pace as each team played at a low danger level, with zero shots being recorded in the opening 6:00 minutes. Blazers’ captain Ryan Michael would fire a one-timer, but Cosmo Wilson came up with a big diving block.
The Blazers nearly made it a one goal game when Behm fed Coupland in-front of the net but Eskit came up with his biggest stop yet. With 2:00 remaining, the Blazers pulled Edmonstone and Royals forward Ashton Brown buried it to seal the game 4-1.
