Kamloops Blazers at Spokane Chiefs 01/24 | WHL Highlights 2025-26

The Kamloops Blazers faced off against the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday night in the second game of a three-game weekend.
Spokane jumped out to a quick start as Coco Armstrong ripped one past Logan Edmonstone just a minute into the frame. The Chiefs struck again shortly after, when a deflection from Sam Oremba found its way into the net to make it 2-0.
Kamloops would respond quickly as Nathan Behm found himself alone on a breakaway and buried it past Linus Vieillard to cut the deficit to one. The Blazers momentum continued to build, and Rhett Ravndahl fed a cross crease pass to Cooper Moore who tied it up at 2-2. Kamloops wasn’t done yet, as Vit Zahejsky buried the go ahead goal, his first goal of the season, to make it 3-2 heading into the intermission.
The second got off to a slower pace, before J.P. Hurlbert put on a show, taking the pick for a skate and wiring a highlight-reel goal past Vieillard to make it 4-2. That goal would result in a goaltender change for Spokane as Carter Esler would come in for relief.
Just 46 seconds later, Behm struck again, knocking home his second of the night to extend the lead to 5-2. Spokane and Kamloops would trade chances as the pace slowed down to round of the period. to round out the period.
Kamloops came out flying to open the third period as Tommy Lafreniere rang a shot off both posts, nearly extending the lead to four. Spokane pushed back and generated high danger chances, but Edmonstone stood tall.
The Blazers continued to play a structured, defensively sound game, shutting down any remaining Spokane opportunities and closing out a 5-2 victory.
Next up: Kamloops heads to Tri-City for a 4:00 matchup against the Americans on Sunday.
