BLAZERS WIN 4-1 IN PRINCE GEORGE
Garrett Pilon had a goal and two assists and Dylan Ferguson stopped 24 shots to lift the Blazers to their first victory of the season with a 4-1 win in Prince George.
Kody McDonald scored the game’s first goal midway through the first period. Garrett Pilon evened the game with a power play goal late in the first period to make it 1-1 after one.
The Blazers had the lone goal of the second period. Connor Zary snapped a shot past the glove of goaltender Tavin Grant on the power play for a 2-1 Blazers lead.
Brodi Stuart gave the Blazers insurance in the third period with a power play marker to make it 3-1 Blazers.
Jermaine Loewen, who was back in the lineup after missing six games with an injury, sealed the game as he beat out an icing call to make it a 4-1 final.
The Blazers power play was good on the night going 3-for-5 while the penalty kill was 5-for-5.
These two teams will meet again Saturday night in Prince George.
