BLAZERS WIN 3-2 IN SPOKANE
The Kamloops Blazers got 40 saves from goaltender Dylan Ferguson in a 3-2 shootout win in Spokane on Friday night.
The Blazers held a 1-0 lead after the first period on a goal from Jermaine Loewen on the power play. He put home a rebound off a shot from Ondrej Vala.
The Chiefs battled back to take the lead in the second period with goals from Nolan Reid an Filip Kral.
Joe Gatenby tied the game late in the second period. Jermaine Loewen poked a puck free and Gatenby was there to score.
In the third period, there was not many chances both ways. The Chiefs had their best chance in the final minute off a rush, but Dylan Ferguson came up big to send the game to overtime.
In overtime, the Chiefs had a power play and outshot the Blazers 9-3 but came up empty handed.
Connor Zary and Garrett Pilon scored goals for the Blazers and Ferguson stopped both shooters for a 3-2 Blazers win.
The Blazers will conclude their trip Saturday night in Tri-City.
