Week in Review:
Tuesday, November 19, 2013 vs. Victoria Royals – 2-1 Loss
The Royals scored twice on the power play in the first period and hung on the rest of the way for a 2-1 win over the Blazers. Chase Souto made it 2-1 near the end of the second period with a power play goal. Patrik Polivka was stellar as the game’s first star making 42 saves for the Royals. Friday, November 22, 2013 at Victoria Royals – 6-1 Loss
It was the same story on Friday night in Victoria as Patrik Polivka was the game’s first star with 34 saves in a 6-1 win over the Blazers. The Royals carried a 2-1 lead into the third period and struck for four goals in the final frame. For the second straight game, Chase Souto was the only goal scorer for the Blazers. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Victoria Royals – 5-0 Loss
Three games against the Royals ended up with the same result as Patrik Polivka was the game’s first star for the third time in the week with 26 saves in a 5-0 Royals win. For the second straight game, the Royals carried a one-goal lead into the third period and struck for four goals in the final frame to cruise to a 5-0 win over the Blazers. Movember Campaign Coming to a Close

$1,070 Raised for Filipino Community
The Kamloops Blazers would like to thank the fans who attended the game on Tuesday, November 19th and donated to the Filipino Canadian Association. $1,070 was raised and many non-perishable items were collected for those affected by the devastating typhoon that hit the Philippines earlier this month.
Alumni Update: Kale Kessy
Kale Kessy (2012-2013) has been playing his first professional season with the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League, the affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. Kessy was originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2011, but was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in March 2013. He signed with the Oilers on April 6th.
Kessy has played 18 games this season and has a goal and an assist along with 20 penalty minutes for the Barons. He is playing alongside Blazers alumni C.J. Stretch (2005-2010) with the Barons.
The Shaunavon, SK native played 31 games with the Blazers after being acquired from the Vancouver Giants on January 3rd. Kessy was terrific for the Blazers putting up 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in the regular season.
The 6’3” and 202lb forward was integral in the Blazers playoff run last season scoring 11 playoff goals in only 15 games. He scored the winning goal in overtime in the WHL Western Conference semi-final as the Blazers swept the Kelowna Rockets 4-0 in the series.
Prospect Update: Curtis Roach
Defenseman Curtis Roach (List Player) is playing this season with the Saskatoon Contacts of the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League.
The 16-year-old is in his first season with the Contacts and is tied for the league lead in defensemen scoring with 15 points in 17 games this season.
He is playing with fellow Blazer prospect Garrett Pilon (7th round, 2013). The Contacts are currently 4th in the 11-team league with a record of 10-5-1-1.
Luke Harrison Acquired from Royals
The Blazers added some depth up front acquiring 18-year-old Luke Harrison from the Victoria Royals in exchange for a sixth round WHL Bantam Draft pick in 2014. For more information, follow this link.
