BLAZERS FALL SHORT IN VANCOUVER
The Kamloops Blazers came back after a 10-day break to fall 4-3 in a shootout to the Vancouver Giants. The Blazers were down 2-0 by the midway point of the game, but came back. Goals by Brendan Ranford on a rebound and Austin Madaisky, who picked off a pass on the power play tied the game up by early in the second period. The Giants Nathan Burns banged in a rebound shortly after Madaisky’s goal as the Giants held the lead for most of the third period. Dylan Willick tied the game firing a wrist shot over goaltender Adam Morrison’s shoulder to send the game to overtime. Overtime solved nothing, and four Blazers failed to score in the shootout. The Giants Alex Kuvaev won the game with a shootout goal in the fourth round for a 4-3 Giants win.
The rematch is Wednesday night in Kamloops as the Blazers will host the Giants for the second time this season.
