BLAZERS END WEEKEND WITH 4-2 LOSS IN PORTLAND
The Kamloops Blazers fell 4-2 in Portland on Sunday night to finish 2-1-0-0 on the weekend as the Blazers and Winterhawks met for three straight games.
After a scoreless first period, the Winterhawks scored twice in the second period on the power play to take a 2-0 lead.
The Winterhawks added to the lead in the third period, but the Blazers came back with two power play goals as Luc Smith and Quinn Benjafield both scored to make it a 3-2 deficit.
The Blazers gave up an empty net goal to make it a 4-2 final.
Max Palaga made 28 saves in the loss and Cole Kehler had the win with 33 stops. The Blazers were 2-for-3 on the power play, while the Winterhawks were 2-for-4.
