Lanti Soaking in First Blazers Camp After Memorable Listing Moment

For Logan Lanti, getting listed by the Kamloops Blazers was a moment he will never forget.
The 16-year-old had just finished celebrating a championship win with Rink Hockey Academy when a surprise announcement would come his way.
“It was actually kind of a weird scenario,” Lanti recalled. “We had just finished our championship game—we were fortunate enough to win—and then a guy came up to me, it was actually Aaron Keller, and he said, ‘Congratulations, you’re a Kamloops Blazer.’ I was in shock. I was like, oh, this is sick. It kind of overshadowed the whole winning thing, too, which was kind of cool. I was just so excited.”
Lanti spent the 2024-25 season with Rink Hockey Academy and helped the club win a championship, notching 25 goals and 67 points in 36 regular-season games. Lanti added six points in five playoff contests.
Lanti was soaking in every moment at camp and, within a couple of days, he knew how tight-knit this group of prospects was.
“The kids are so fast, and everyone’s so nice to each other,” he said. “I feel like what we had in the room was something that some teams don’t even get in their whole season. Everybody was so tight together. We’re all family here. It’s super nice.”
The High Level, Alberta native is a right-handed forward with speed and power, models parts of his game after Colorado Avalanche superstar and Stanley Cup champion Nathan MacKinnon, one of the NHL’s top two-way threats.
“I obviously like watching MacKinnon,” Lanti said. “He’s got speed, he’s a right-handed player, and he uses his size to his advantage, which I kind of try to take into my own game in ways.”
One thing that was noticeable about Lanti throughout camp was his habit of being the last player off the ice after practice—a ritual that caught my attention.
“I wouldn’t say it’s superstitious,” he laughed. “I just like saying a couple words to the boys as they’re heading off. I like being out there a little longer to get to know the ice, feel it out a bit more. Honestly, it’s probably just how I grew up.”
With a quiet confidence and strong work ethic already on display, Lanti is making the most of his first impression in Kamloops—and proving he’s a name to watch in the Blazers’ system come training camp in August.
