During the first round of the WHL Prospects Draft on Wednesday, the Kamloops Blazers selected Mateo Ferreria and Teagen Bouchard.
Kamloops also made two picks in the WHL U.S. Priority Draft, selecting forward Collin Kim from the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and defenceman Chase Gill from the California Goldrush.
On Thursday, the WHL Prospects Draft wrapped up, which saw the Blazers make 10 selections. With the No. 29 pick, Kamloops took Brady Ondrus, who played with Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep, where he tallied 26 goals and 51 points in 35 games. His father, Ben Ondrus, played five seasons in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos and appeared in 54 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Blazers then selected Dilin Coulter-Suttie with pick No. 53 from the Saskatoon Bandits in the third round. Coulter-Suttie tallied 42 goals and 87 points in 29 games and added 23 points in 10 playoff contests.
With their fourth-round selection, the Blazers opted for a goaltender in Lane Bullee, who plays for the U15 AAA Red Deer Rebels. This past season, the 6-foot-0 netminder put together a 13-4 record to go with a 0.914 save percentage and 2.62 goals against average.
In the fifth round, Kamloops took forward Briggs Fabro out of the Lethbridge Golden Hawks U15 AAA squad. During the 2024-25 season, Fabro scored 23 goals and 29 assists for 52 points in 34 games.
Kamloops had two selections in the eighth round. First, they chose defenceman Kai Lanigan from the Regina Aces AA, a 5-foot-9 right-shot who recorded 34 points in 28 games. With their second pick of the round, they selected fellow defenceman Easton Green from the Winnipeg Bruins U15 AAA — the same team as Ferreria. Green notched 19 points in 32 games.
As the draft wound down, the Blazers added forward Carter Wiggins from the Saskatoon Stallions AA, who had 27 goals and 52 points in 28 games. Their final selection was goaltender Felix Derksen from the Saskatoon Generals AA.
