KAMLOOPS BLAZERS PROMOTED AARON KELLER TO DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL
Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers announced today that they have promoted Aaron Keller to the position of Director of Player Personnel for the hockey club. Keller will oversee the hockey club’s scouting staff, WHL Prospects Draft and 50-man player list.
Keller has spent the last four years as Technical Director of the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association. He has also been a Development Coach with the Blazers since retiring from his playing career and returning to Kamloops in 2017.
Following his playing career, Keller spent three seasons as an Assistant Coach in Japan with the Oji Eagles where his responsibilities including scouting and recruiting prospects.
The Kamloops, BC native played four seasons with the Blazers between 1992-1996 winning Memorial Cups in 1994 and 1995. He spent 17 seasons playing pro hockey in Japan, including playing in eight World Championships for Japan.
The Blazers have also promoted BC Scout, Scott Blakeney to Senior Head Scout – BC and hired Brad Davis as Head Scout – Manitoba. Blakeney returns for a fifth season with the Blazers and Davis joins the hockey club after spending the past 16 seasons with the Portland Winterhawks. Jason Pashelka returns for a fifth season as Head Scout – Alberta.
The Kamloops Blazers would also like to congratulate Assistant General Manager, Robbie Sandland for being hired as an Amateur Scout with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
2023 Kamloops Blazers training camp starts with registration on Thursday, August 31st and on ice sessions Friday, September 1st until Monday, September 4th.
