On Saturday, January 22nd, the Saskatoon Blades skated to an emphatic 7-2 victory over the Winnipeg ICE in what was the first Pride Night in the organization’s storied history.
With the help of Saskatoon Pride and Tourism Saskatoon, the Blades donned limited-edition theme jerseys, emblazoned with a rainbow-gradient logo, colourful bands, and multicolour socks. Prior to the game, every player for the team, and even several members of the Winnipeg ICE, wrapped the blades of their sticks with Pride tape.
