Blades Look Ahead to Warriors
On Friday in the season opener the Blades dropped a 5-2 road decision
rto the Wheat Kings. Walker Wintoneak potted his first goal of the
rseason midway through the third period while Chris Durand scored his
rfirst goal in a Blades’ uniform in the final minute. Braden Holtby
rgave up 5 goals on 35 shots to take the loss in net.

rOn Saturday the two teams renewed pleasantries at the Blades’ Home
rOpener before 4,668 patrons at Credit Union Centre. On the back of
rfour first period goals the Wheat Kings got the better of the Blades
r6-1. Gaelan Patterson scored the Blades’ only goal, netting his first
rcareer short-handed goal at the 8:39 mark of the third period. Garrett
rZemlak gave up 4 goals on 9 shots to take the loss before giving way to
rBraden Holtby, who surrendered 2 goals on 17 shots in relief.

rThe Blades return to the ice this week in preparation for Wednesday
rnight when the Moose Jaw Warriors come to town. Puck drop is 7:05 pm
