WHL announces partnership with Tempo
Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today a new partnership with Tempo.
Since 1960, Tempo has been committed to serving Western Canadians and is an independent fuel brand of Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). Tempo’s sponsorship will include WHL Player of the Week as well as in-game promotions providing fans in WHL arenas with opportunities to win exciting prizes.
“We are excited to partner with the WHL in promoting the Tempo brand across Western Canada,” said Leah Andrew, Associate Vice President Customer Experience for FCL. “Tempo is local, for everyone, and like the WHL, is dedicated to supporting communities across the west. We look forward to engaging with WHL fans and demonstrating our commitment to Western Canada.”
As the newest corporate partner of the WHL, Tempo will be visible across all 16 WHL Canadian markets. The Tempo brand is evolving and has seen growth in local neighbourhoods across Western communities due to the conversion of a number of Husky retail fuel sites to Tempo-branded gas bars following FCL’s purchase of 171 Husky retail sites.
“The WHL is excited to welcome Tempo as our newest corporate partner,” commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison. “With retail locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, Tempo is invested in communities across Western Canada, making this partnership a natural fit for the WHL.”
The 2023-24 WHL Regular Season begins Friday, September 22 with nine games on the schedule.
