Remembering Joan Dietz
The Saskatoon Blades are deeply saddened by the passing of long-time season ticket holder, devoted superfan and Booster Club Founding Member, Joan Dietz.
Joan first became a season ticket holder in 1977 and has since earned the distinction of being the Blades longest serving season ticket holder in franchise history.
An avid sports and hockey fan, Joan met her husband Al on a West Coast bus trip. Together they billeted many players over 10 years and provided a “home away from home”, with Joan becoming a “second mom” to many.
For over 20 years she led a team of booster volunteers planning many events and activities for the club and players, and, to curate scrapbooks for each player, preserving memories of their time with the Blades for them and their families. A true demonstration of her creativity, generosity, commitment and care.
We share our condolences with her family and friends.
