Tonight
The Saskatoon Blades (0-1-0-0) gear up for another preseason fight against the Prince Albert Raiders (1-0-0-0) Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre.
It’s the second meeting of the preseason between the Highway 11 rivals. The Blades fell short 2-1 in the first battle Wednesday, Sept. 6th at the Big River First Nation. Saskatoon dressed all their signed 2008-born draft picks in the game, along with a majority of 2007-born and 2006-born players. Forward Zach Moore scored the lone goal for the Blue and Gold shorthanded. 15-year-old netminder Ryley Budd was solid in his WHL preseason debut stopping 28 of 30 shots faced.
The Blades have two more preseason games after tonight. The first is against last year’s first round opponent the Regina Pats on Wednesday, Sept. 13th before finishing the preseason in Warman, SK for a tilt against the Raiders.
