Lewandowski, Willhöft named to Germany’s preliminary roster for 2026 World Juniors
Saskatoon, SK – Saskatoon Blades forwards David Lewandowski and Dustin Willhöft have been named to Team Germany’s preliminary roster for the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship in Minneapolis, MN.

Lewandowski was drafted by the Blades in the second round (120th overall) of the 2024 Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Import Draft. In his second season with the club, the 6-foot-2 winger leaders the Blades with 25 points (7G, 18A) in 23 games. The 18-year-old forward was drafted in the fourth round (117th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft in June. This is the Dusseldorf, GER native’s second straight year cracking his country’s preliminary World Juniors roster.
Originally born in Kohtla-Jarve, EST, Willhöft’s named to Germany’s preliminary World Juniors roster for the first time in his career. The 2007-born winger has a goal and four assists in 25 games with the Blades his rookie season.
Both men captured gold at an international stage with Germany at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship Division 1A (WJC-U18 D1A).
The 2026 IIHF World Junior Champions begin December 26 and end with the gold medal game on January 5. Team Germany will play two pre-tournament games on December 20 and 21 before making a final cut from their 26-man roster.
