Harsanyi darted head first towards every challenge in 2024-25
Most people when they hear “HH” think of Helly Hansen. Saskatoon Blades fans on the other hand associate the initials with skilled forward Hayden Harsanyi.
The 2025 NHL draft-eligible centre turned heads after arriving in Saskatoon on Jan. 6, 2025. The 5-foot-11 speedster was acquired via trade by the Blades alongside teammate Jack Kachkowski, and five Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospect Draft picks from the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for Nashville Predators prospect Tanner Molendyk, and forward Misha Volotovskii. After sustaining a lower-body injury at the beginning of the season, the former WHL first-round pick recorded two assists in his first game with the Blades on Jan. 8, 2025 on the road against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The 2007-born forward remained hot after arriving in Saskatoon, netting points (3G, 2A) in his first four games with the club. The run built off three points in two games with the Tigers before the injury, giving Harsanyi a season-high six-game point streak (3G, 5A). Harsanyi skated in his 100th career WHL on March 5, 2025 against the Swift Current Broncos at SaskTel Centre. In 30 games with the Blades in 2024-25, Harsanyi scored 11 goals and nine assists, giving him 24 points (12G, 12A) in 37 games between the Blades and Tigers this past season.
