The Blades (30-25-4-2) begin their final month of the regular season with a tilt against the Red Deer Rebels (23-32-2-2) at SaskTel Centre at 7:00pm. The Blades look to sweep the four-game season series against Red Deer. Saskatoon’s outscored Red Deer 15-9 this season. Tonight’s a chance for the Blades to shake off back-to-back losses. The Bridge City Bunch fell 6-3 in Regina on Saturday to the Pats and 4-0 the night prior at home against the Prince George Cougars.

Call on Calvert
20-year-old alternate captain Rowan Calvert scored a goal and an assist in Saturday’s defeat. The left-shot winger leads the team with 26 goals and 13 powerplay goals on the season. In 61 games, Calvert has 44 points (26G, 18A), good for fourth in team scoring.
Laing lights the lamp
Calgary Flames draft pick Hunter Laing notched a goal and an assist in Saturday’s loss. The two-point performance set a new career-high in scoring for the 6-foot-6 winger with 49 points (23G, 26A) in 55 games.
The good guys
Edmonton Oilers draft picks David Lewandowski leads the team in scoring with 15 goals and 42 assists for 57 points in 50 games. Calvert has the most goals on the team at 26 and a team-leading 13 coming on the man-advantage. Second-year defenceman Jordan Martin owns the best +/- at +9. Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner has a 22-15-3-2 record between the pipes with a .904 SV%, 2.96 GAA, and three shutouts.
