The Saskatoon Blades (33-21-3-4) continue their push for first place in the East Division as they visit the Brandt Centre to take on the Regina Pats (15-39-5-3).
X marked the spot for the Blades Saturday at SaskTel Centre, defeating the Prince Albert Raiders 4-1 on home ice to clinch a 2025 WHL Playoff berth. Saskatoon went 2-0 in the weekend home-and-home series against Prince Albert, picking up a 3-2 victory Friday at the Art Hauser Centre. The Blades are tied for second place in the East Division with the Brandon Wheat Kings at 73 points, one point back of the first-place Raiders. Saskatoon has a game in-hand over both clubs.
Tonight’s the fifth of six meetings between the Blades and Pats this season. Outscoring the Pats 17-12, Saskatoon leads the season series 3-1.
Who to Watch
Rookie defenceman Brayden Klimpke has at least one assist in five straight games. The Calgary, AB native dished two helpers in Saturday’s victory against Prince Albert, giving him two goals and 21 assists in 52 games this season. Klimpke is the team’s +/- leader at +18.
Rookie centre Cooper Williams recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday’s win over the Raiders. The Calgary, AB native has a goal and three assists across his past two games. Williams is fifth in WHL rookie scoring with 17 goals and 31 assists in 61 games. The 2026 NHL draft-eligible forward has the most rookie points by a Blade since Brandon Lisowsky’s 58 in the 2021-22 season.
Calgary Flames draft pick Hunter Laing was named WHL Player of the Week yesterday. The 6-foot-6 winger scored four goals and one assist in two games over the weekend. Laing scored a pair of goals in each game against Prince Albert, one on the man-advantage each game. The Kelowna, BC product leads the team with 23 goals and has 40 points in 57 games this season.
