The Saskatoon Blades (28-18-3-4) visit Lethbridge.com Arena to take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes (34-18-2-1) for Wednesday Night in the Dub. Fans can witness two Eastern Conference squads battle for free on WHL Live and the league’s YouTube channel as the playoff race heats. Tonight’s the third of four meetings this season between the Blades and Hurricanes. The season series is tied 1-1, Saskatoon outscoring their opponent 5-3. Both sides earned their respective win against the other at home.
The Blades picked up three out of a possible six points in a three-game weekend. Saskatoon defeated the Calgary Hitmen 6-3 at home Friday, earned a point the following night in a 6-5 shootout loss to the Swift Current Broncos, and fell 6-3 Monday at home against the Brandon Wheat Kings. 12 points earned by the Blades or lost by the Red Deer Rebels clinches the Bridge City Bunch a fifth consecutive postseason appearance.
Who to Watch
2007-born centre Hayden Harsanyi dished two helpers in Monday’s loss to the Wheat Kings. The former Medicine Hat Tiger has four goals and three assists on his five-game point streak. Since being acquired by the Blades on January 6 via trade, the Calgary, AB native has eight goals and six assists in 15 games with the Blue and Gold.
2008-born winger Kohen Lodge scored recorded a goal and an assist in Monday’s loss to Brandon. The Red Deer, AB native has three goals and two assists in 18 games up with the Blue and Gold this season.
