The Saskatoon Blades (24-16-3-3) kick off February by welcoming the Moose Jaw Warriors (11-31-4-2) to SaskTel Centre for a Sunday matinee.
The Bridge City Bunch capped off the first month of 2025 with a 4-2 victory Friday at game against the Wenatchee Wild. It was the final U.S. Division team to visit Saskatoon this season, as the Blades finished 4-0-1-1 against teams south of the border.
Today marks the fifth meeting of the season between last year’s Eastern Conference Final opponents. The Blades lead the season series 3-1, outscoring the Warriors 11-8. Saskatoon sits four points back of the Prince Albert Raiders for first place in the East Division. Both sides have played 46 games.
Who to Watch
Rookie centre Cooper Williams was named first star in Friday’s 4-2 victory against Wenatchee. The Calgary, AB product netted a goal and an assist, giving him the most points amongst Blades rookies with 33 (14G, 19A) in 46 games. Williams finished January with seven goals and three assists in 12 games, four points coming in his last three games. The Blades second pick of the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft is in a three-way tie for eighth amongst WHL rookies in scoring.
Alternate captain Tyler Parr scored a goal and an assist Friday against the Wild. The La Salle, MB native has two goals and four assists on his three-game point streak. Parr leads the team in points with 46 (18G, 28A) in 44 games, all career highs.
19-year-old forward Frantisek Dej collect his first WHL point Friday against Wenatchee. The 6-foot-5 centre assisted on alternate captain Rowan Calvert’s insurance goal late in the second period to put the Blades up 4-1. The Bratislava, SVK native has been exceptional on the draw in his first six games with Saskatoon, winning 67.1% of faceoffs.
