The Saskatoon Blades conclude the week in Alberta with the third meeting of the season against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Bridge City Bunch are 2-0 against Lethbridge this season, outscoring them 13-6. Saskatoon lost last night 4-1 in Medicine Hat. Facing one of the league’s top powerplays in Medicine Hat at over 30%, the Blades penalty kill went 3/3. Tonight marks the third game of a four-game road trip for the Blue and Gold. The Blades end the trip Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre against the Canadian Hockey League’s top ranked Prince Albert Raiders.

Final day in the Lethbridge
Tonight’s the final regular season trip to Lethbridge for 20-year-old forwards Tyler Parr and Rowan Calvert. Parr has four assists in 17 career games against the Hurricanes. In 14 career games against Lethbridge, Calvert has three goals and one assist for four points. The second-year alternate captain leads the team with 22 goals and 11 powerplay goals in 46 games this season.
Slump snapped
Edmonton Oilers draft pick David Lewandowski scored the lone goal in yesterday’s loss. The 18-year-old winger snapped a ten-game goalless drought with his ninth of the season. The goal also marked a new career-high in points for the German import with 40 (9G, 31A) in 36 games. In his rookie year last season, Lewandowski recorded 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points in 52 games.

Lewandowski leads the team in scoring with nine goals and 31 assists for 40 points in 36 games. Calvert has the most goals on the team at 22 and a team-leading 11 coming on the man-advantage. Second-year defenceman Jordan Martin has the best +/- at +10. Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner has an 18-10-2-1 record between the pipes with a .905 SV%, 2.79 GAA, and two shutouts.
