The Saskatoon Blades visit Rogers Place for their final game of the regular season against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Tonight marks the first game of a four-game road trip for Saskatoon. The Blades have won back-to-back games. The latest victory came Friday at SaskTel Centre against the Medicine Hat Tigers 3-2 in the shootout. The Oil Kings lead the season series 2-1.

NHL draft-eligible Blades Cooper Williams, Zach Olsen, and Brayden Klimpke were named to Team East for the inaugural WHL Top Prospects Game. All three were recently listed on NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings. Williams was ranked 42nd amongst North American skaters and leads the Blades in scoring with 39 points (16G, 23A) in 42 games. Olsen has 13 goals and 13 assists in 43 games while being ranked 43rd. Ranked 79th, Klimpke leads the Blades’ backend in scoring with 31 points (3G, 28A).
Hay is for Hayden
2007-born centre Hayden Harsanyi scored the lone shootout goal in Friday’s win against Medicine Hat. The former Medicine Hat Tiger has 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 43 games this season.
The good guys
Williams leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and 23 assists for 39 points in 42 games. Alternate captain Rowan Calvert has the most goals on the team at 22 and a team-leading 11 coming on the man-advantage. Second-year defenceman Jordan Martin has the best +/- at +10. Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner has an 18-9-2-1 record between the pipes with a .904 SV%, 2.78 GAA, and two shutouts.
