GAME 24 PREVIEW | The Dark Knight rises at SaskTel Centre as Blades welcome Broncos
Key Players, Notable Stats, How to Watch and More
We’re Batman. Well… for tonight anyways.
The Saskatoon Blades (13-8-2-0) host the Swift Current Broncos (8-11-1-0) for RE/MAX Presents: Be a Superhero for Children’s Miracle Network. Puck drop for the super hero showdown is at 7:00pm inside SaskTel Centre.
It’s time to keep Saskatoon safe from the dangerous visitors—and the Blades are suited up for the job. Players will take the ice in special Batman-themed jerseys, complete with capes overtop in warmups, bringing Gotham-level excitement to the rink.
The game-worn Batman jerseys will be auctioned online following the event, with all proceeds supporting the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
We’re honoured to welcome Blaze Dunn and his family as our special guest at the game. Blaze is a true champion of courage and positivity. Born with bilateral club feet and having undergone multiple surgeries at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, including a major recovery after being struck by a vehicle in 2022, Blaze has faced every challenge with incredible strength. Wanting to give back, Blaze and his family have raised over $100,000 for Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. Now thriving, he proudly serves as the 2025 Champion Child, representing sick and injured kids across Saskatchewan.
The Blades have only played eight games of their first 23 games at home. The Bridge City Bunch went undefeated on their three-game road trip last week with wins against the Broncos, Calgary Hitmen, and most recently the Red Deer Rebels. November 11 marked the Blades’ second 4-1 victory of the season against the Broncos on the road. Saskatoon leads the eight-game season series 2-0.
It was a back-and-forth affair on Saturday in Red Deer as the Blades capped off their trip with a 6-5 victory. NHL Draft-eligible centre Cooper Williams led the way offensively for Saskatoon with a pair of goals and an assist in the win. The Calgary, AB native has nine goals and ten assists in 21 games this season. Fellow 17-year-old forward Zach Olsen scored his third game-winning goal of the season, giving him the most on the team.
Tonight marks the beginning of three consecutive home games for the Blades. SaskTel Centre welcomes fans again tomorrow for Girls Rock! Night against the Brandon Wheat Kings presented by Discover Saskatoon. Head Coach Dan DaSilva and his crew then have nearly a week off before hosting the Medicine Hat Tigers on November 28 for Military Appreciation Night.
