GAME 13 PREVIEW | Blades Take on the Hurricanes for the Third Time This Season
WHL REGULAR SEASON | Game 11 Saskatoon Blades @ Edmonton Oil Kings
|
Tonight: The Saskatoon Blades are in Lethbridge for the last of their five game Alberta road trip. This road trip has been nothing but success for the Blades as they have won all four games so far and are on a seven-game win streak.
Last Time: The Blades and Hurricanes have played two times so far this season, splitting the season series 1-1. The first meeting was in Saskatoon and the Blades did not have a good performance as the Hurricanes handed them the loss 3-1. They played in Lethbridge to start this current road trip and the Blades came out with the win. Both games were defended tightly, and it seems that Lethbridge knows exactly how they want to play the Blades.
Streaking: The Saskatoon Blades are on a 7-game winning streak. They are 10-2 on the season and have won all 4 games on this current 5 game road trip. Brandon Lisowsky is on a 5-game point streak with 7 points in 5 games. Defenseman Charlie Wright is also on a 5-game point streak for the Blades with 6 points in 5 games. Wright was in Edmonton at Oilers camp this summer while Lisowsky is a Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick.
Right on Parr: Tyler Parr scored both goals last night in Medicine Hat and early on, it seems he has a feel for the heroics. Last night’s goals were only his 2nd and 3rd on the year which led the Blades to a 2-1 win. His only other goal this season came with less than a second left in overtime in the Blades home opener to help the Blades to a 2-1 win over Prince Albert. 2 GWG’s and one insurance marker is quite the way to start the season for the 17-year-old.
