Blades welcome Raiders to Warman for preseason finale
WHL PRESEASON | Saskatoon Blades (0-3-0-1) vs Prince Albert Raiders (3-1-0-0)
|
It’s been done before but never gets old.
The Saskatoon Blades (0-3-0-1) hit the ice at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex for a preseason finale against the Prince Albert Raiders (3-1-0-0) at 7:00pm. These two team have squared-off in Warman, SK several times in past preseasons, and the fierce Highway 11 rivals continue the tradition tonight.
The Bridge City Bunch enter a near sold out crowd looking for their first win of the preseason. Victory was on the doorstep last night for the Blades at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert, but a late goal from Raider forward Aiden Oiring forced extra time, resulting in a 5-4 shootout loss for the Blades. 19-year-old winger Rowan Calvert netted a pair in defeat for Saskatoon, while teammates Ben Riche and Willy James collected their first goals of the preseason.
La Salle, MB’s own Tyler Parr leads the Blades in points throughout preseason after a three assist performance yesterday. The 2005-born winger has three goals and six points in three games.
Saskatoon’s 0-1-0-1 against the Raiders this preseason and hope to head into next weekend’s regular season opener against the Swift Current Broncos on a high note. Tonight’s bound to be an exciting game on the ice with plenty happening on the other side of the glass as well.
