Blades strike last-minute deal with Winterhawks before 2025 trade deadline
Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades have acquired a conditional 2026 tenth-round pick from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for 2007-born winger Lochlan Tetarenko.
“We want to thank Lochlan for his hard work and compete every day at the rink,” said Blades general manager and president, Colin Priestner, “We wish him nothing but the best and are super excited that he gets to play for his dad’s old junior team.”
Tetarenko, a Okotoks, AB native, has five assists and 23 penalty minutes in 25 games during his rookie year with the Blades. Drafted by the Blades in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, Tetarenko follows in the footsteps of his father Joey as a member of the Winterhawks.
The Blades want to thank Lochlan for his contributions to the organization and wish him all the best in Portland.
