Blades roster down to 28 players
Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades roster is down to 28 players following Saturday’s preseason finale in Warman, SK against the Prince Albert Raiders.
2008-born forward Triston Mitchell-McElhone has been reassigned to the Swift Current Legionnaires of the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL). The Blades 11th-round pick of the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft was signed by the club earlier this month.
18-year-old winger Justin Ivanusec was also released from the roster.
The Blades’ regular season begins on the road Friday, Sept. 20 against the Swift Current Broncos at Innovation IPlex, followed by a rematch Saturday, Sept. 21 at SaskTel Centre. Puck drop for both games is 7:00pm.
